What is LaborMe?

We are a peer-to-peer mobile application platform (available on android and iOS) that connects people (customers) who need errands and tasks done to interested nearby Taskers who have free time on their hands and the ability to complete these tasks.

Who can use LaborMe?

Anyone, everyone. LaborMe is free for everyone to use. All you need is an android or iOS device and mobile internet connection. You can be both customer (post a task) and tasker (who earns by completing tasks) with one account registration.

Do I have to download 2 separate apps to use as both customer and tasker?

No. You can use the same account on the same app as both customer and tasker. And that means you can post a task and bid for a task on the same app and account.

In which countries is LaborMe available?

We are currently only available in Singapore but our eyes are set on expanding into the regional market in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled!

Are there any membership fees?

No. Use of LaborMe is free. You only need to pay your tasker when your task has been completed.

Who is going to complete my task?

LaborMe is a peer-to-peer community. When you post a task, interested Taskers from our community will bid for it. You can then choose to award the task to one of these Taskers based on bid price or reviews from other members of the community.

Are Taskers employed by LaborMe?

No. LaborMe only acts as an intermediary platform which connects you with available taskers. Taskers work on a freelance basis and are not employees of LaborMe. We vet through all our tasker applications through interviews and / or ID verification to ensure the safe, secure and integrous experience we aim to deliver.


Registration


How do I register?

Anyone can register on the app. Registration is a simple 2 step process and can be completed in less than 2 minutes. Simply download our application on Google Play or the iOS App Store and fill up the required fields.

What information do I have to provide to register?

You will be prompted to provide your email address, create a username and password, as well as provide your mobile number for verification. If you wish to become a Tasker and earn with us, you will need to provide your ID information as well as bank account details so we can pay you.

Why do i need to provide my mobile number to register?

Your mobile number is required as part of a verification process to maintain the integrity and security of the service. We will never give out your mobile number to anyone outside of the purposes of the app.

How do I become a Tasker?

Becoming a Tasker is easy. All you need to do is sign up on the app you can start bidding for tasks immediately. No need to wait for approval or long administrative processes.


Verification


Is there a verification process? Who needs to be verified?

All Taskers will need to go through a verification process where we evaluate the information submitted by them and assess their skills and suitability for the services they intend to provide. Customers will not be required to verify their profiles but have the option to do so if they wish.

How many levels of verification are there?

There are 3 levels of verification:

Not Verified
  • First level, default status.
  • A tasker profile displaying this status has not had his/her profile verified by our community managers.
  • Taskers with this status will still be allowed to bid for tasks. The system, however, will not automatically assign them to auto-accept bid tasks. Customers should only select Taskers with the “Not Verified” status at their own discretion.


Verified
  • Second level of verification
  • Once the required identification information (scans of Identity Card or Passport) have been submitted and approved by our community managers, Users will be assigned this status.


Verified in Person
  • Third and highest level of verification
  • This status is awarded to Taskers who request to be invited for an in-person verification at our head office.

Why get verified?

LaborMe endorses each verified tasker as a legitimate user that has been identified and is contactable. Getting verified improves the credibility of Taskers and increases their chances of being selected.

While Customers don’t need to be verified, a Customer with a verified status would likely receive more bids for their tasks as they are more likely to be reliable and contactable clients.

How do I become a verified Customer?

You can request to be verified by going to selecting ‘Menu’, then ‘View Profile’ under your profile picture. You will find a ‘Verify Now’ button at the bottom. Once selected, fill up the required information and our team will process your request within 24 hours.

How do I know if a Tasker is verified?

Verified Taskers will have a verified badge displayed next to their name on the Select Bidders list. We highly encourage you to select verified taskers for your tasks. If a Tasker is not yet verified, you will see a “Not Verified” badge. Customers should only select Taskers with the “Not Verified” status at their own discretion.

Can my verification level be revoked?

Your verification level can be revoked if you are found to have breached our terms of use (see Terms of Use), create or use profiles containing offensive language and /or displaying inappropriate content.

My verification status shows that it is pending, what do i do?

Don’t worry! The pending status in this case would mean that your request to verify your profile is pending an approval from our team. Someone will get in touch with you soon should the need arise.

Creating Tasks


What kind of tasks can I post?

We have launched with courier services and food delivery and our taskers are spread across the island to facilitate such requests. Our last category ‘Everything Else’ allows you to create tasks for anything else you need done, as long as it does not go against our terms and conditions. (See Terms and Conditions)

How much does it cost to get a task done?

This will depend on how much your offer price is and the price at which interested Taskers are bidding for your task. There are no fixed fees for tasks.


Selecting Your Tasker


What is Auto-Accept Bid?

You can choose to allow our system to automatically accept the first bid that comes in at/below your offer price. This option allows your task to be picked up by a tasker in the shortest possible time. Rest assured that only verified Taskers will be auto-accepted by our system.

How much do I have to pay if I choose to use Auto-Accept Bid?

You will only pay the offer price which you have entered.

How long do I have to wait for bids to come in?

This depends on the number and availability of the taskers near you when you post your task.

How long does it take for a task to be awarded to a Tasker?

You can select a tasker whenever you like as long as your task has not expired. Alternatively, you can opt to use our Auto-Accept Bid function which will automatically accept the first bid that comes in at/below your offer price.

Why does my task expire?

Tasks have an expiry time to encourage Taskers to place their bids fast. This in turn helps to minimize the time for your task to be picked up and started!

My task expired before I selected my tasker.

Don’t worry! You can easily recreate your expired tasks by clicking on “Recreate Expired Tasks” in the bidding section.


Cancelling Tasks


Can I cancel my task once I have created it?

Yes you may. However, you may be subjected to cancellation charges. (See Cancellation Charges)

What are the cancellation fees?

In the event of a cancellation, the user will be subjected to the following fees:

My tasker cancelled my task.

We’re sorry to hear that! Taskers are allowed to cancel tasks if they feel that they are unable to complete them. However, If you believe that your Tasker cancelled your task intentionally, please contact us at support@labormenow.com and we will look into the matter for you.

Upon selecting your task card, you will see the ‘Message’ function. Once selected, you would be able to talk to your Tasker directly.

Making Payment


How do I make payment?

Once you have selected your Tasker of choice, you will be sent to the payment page where you will be required to enter your credit/debit card details for payment. If this is your first and only card saved on LaborMe, it will be set as your default payment method. Subsequent payments will be charged to your default card, which you can update in settings.

Bidding


How do I bid for a Task?

At the landing page, select ‘Discover’ and the type of task you would like to browse. Once done, a list of tasks should appear. Select the task that interests you the most and once you are sure you want to bid for the task, key in your desired price in the field that says ‘Enter Bid’ and press ‘Bid’. Congratulations! How are bids awarded?

Bids are awarded to you at the sole discretion of the Customer. The Customer might take into account a host of factors including but not limited to the following:
  • Bid Price
  • Tasker Reviews
  • Verification Status

Do my bids expire?

Yes they do. Do be aware that your bids have an expiry on them and once they expire, you will have to re-enter your bid once more.

Can I cancel my bid?

Yes you can. Select the task card and expand it. Scroll to the bottom and you will find ‘Cancel’ next to your bid amount. Do be aware that once your bid has been accepted, you would be cancelling the task and it will affect your review score.

How do i communicate with my Customer?

With the application opened, select ‘Ongoing’ and then ‘Tasks Won’. Under each task card displayed, the message button will be shown on the far left above ‘+ Tap Card To Expand’.

Cancellation


Can I cancel once I’ve been awarded a task?

Yes you can. However your review score will be affected. Frequent cancellations will also prompt a temporary suspension on your profile until our customer relations officer contacts you. In the event of a cancellation, the Tasker will be subjected to the following block out periods:

Earnings


Are there any charges on my earnings?

There are no other charges on your earnings. You earn exactly as what your bid amount says.

When / How do I get paid?

After you tap on the Task Complete buttons, money from the task is automatically added to your wallet, which you can access at any time from the Menu tab. You can choose to withdraw this amount to your designated bank account at any time by clicking “Get Paid Now”.

Administrative and/or transfer fees (shown below) imposed by the respective banks apply for withdrawals to Taskers’ bank accounts.

How do I change my bank account details?
